K.A. Colorado
KA Colorado was born in California, resided in Puerto Rico and now working in Oregon and living in B.C., Canada. His passion for art was recognized at an early age and was encouraged by his father and uncle who were both artists. KA Colorado received his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts at California State University in 1972. In 1975, he received a Master's Degree in Sculpture and Design from California State University as well.
KA Colorado has extensive experience with art education, through his knowledge and passion for art he has taught art to children and professed the philosophy of sculpture and design at the collegiate level. It is clear that this experience enhanced the philosophical and theoretical focus KA Colorado has when it comes to his own artwork.
KA Colorado's artwork primarily consists of sculpture using various mediums. His sculpture has been exhibited all throughout the United States and abroad. Nationally, KA Colorado has had exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland. Internationally, he has exhibited in the Czech Republic, Japan, Peru, Canada, Finland, Mexico and Russia.
KA Colorado has also received many commissioned art proposals from areas around the world. In Central and South America, KA Colorado has commissioned art in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Lima, Peru and Sineloa, Mexico. Other commissions have taken KA Colorado's work to Moscow, Russia, andVejprty, Czech Republic. Nationally his work can be seen in Pasadena, California, Providence, Rhode Island and New York.
